The Mambodelphia project started informally in August of 2008 back when there were no mambo (on2) classes on a weekly basis in Philadelphia. Since that time the interest in Mambo has grown rapidly and the awareness of social dancing along with it.

 So, what’s in the name? The Mambo part of “Mambodelphia” is the "Brotherhood of Mambo" and points specifically towards the style of dance we’re all about. The ‘delphia’ part is short for Philadelphia, but also encompasses the greek idea of Brotherhood or, ‘Adelphia’. But, what it’s really about is bringing people together through Mambo dancing. Simple.

 As the founder of Mambodelphia, it is my mission to have the Mambo On2 style recognized in all clubs, dance socials and major events playing Latin music in the Philadelphia area.
